VENVS GENETRIX IN THE ISSUES OF THE SEVERAN DYNASTY WOMEN

Abstract

The following considerations concern the coins of of women from the Severan dynasty, on the reverse of which the goddess Venus Genetrix is depicted. The analysis of the issue in terms of iconography and ideology aims to determine the role of this Roman goddess in the self-presentation of women of the Severan dynasty.
